My ex-bestfriend (yes, I do have an ex-bestfriend...long story...:P) called me up yesterday and asked whether I can join the rest of my girlfriends for dinner...

The last time we got together was during our Wayan retreat in July.

So that's donkey years already.

This time, there'll be me, Tikus, Dayak and Beruang.
(Oh, I lurrve the lovely nicks..)

Dayak owes Tikus money for their sons' joint birthday bash in the childcare which Tikus paid for first.
They had planned to meet up so they can settle the bill togethergether...
Beruang and I are just movie extras who are needed to add colour to the background:P

The other 3 are working women, professionals in their own fields.
I had to be the only housewife in the group.
Which is not too bad.
Cos they always take pity on me.
Pity in the form of payment.
Pity is good.
I loike.

But I think I've had enuff of people paying for me.(I think.)
We're going to dine at that takder-tempat-lain-dorang-suka-makan Cafe Vienna...
Sigh.
Sedap nah ker tempat tu??
Dah lah mahal...bukannyer kita really eat up everything on the spread.
Oh.
Ok.
Beruand and Dayak do...:P
I must remind myself not to sit next to these two, also...
You never get to eat the things on YOUR plate when you're next to either of them..
Before it gets to your mouth, they've already burped.

Anyway, it's going to be one of these Fridays..after work.
After THEIR work.

It'll be a riot as usual.
Somehow, because we have been friends since we were 17, we can afford to be our real, disgusting, loud, vulgar selves..
And that is theraphy for me, actually..

To be girly and silly and laugh my head off once in a while..
To let my guard down and just be myself once in a while..
To even dress up and not having to wear nursing clothes once in a while..
To have fun with my girlfriends and not worry about who has finished their veggies on their plates, who has homework to be done, which assessment book to do, who wants to watch which cartoon etc etc...

I think we moms need such a break once in a while..
To get back in touch with ourselves.
To have a little fun.

And I do miss my girlfriends too..
There's something about friendships formed during school years that you cannot replicate with friendships formed in the adult years.
Just something about it...

But now, we have to figure out where to lump the hubbies and the kids...
Men.
They need to see fellow men grappling with the same problem for them to feel calm and competent..
Maybe we'd just dump them at Dayak's place..
It's big, it's spacious and the key thing:it's got MILLIONS of toys..
For the kids and the..ahem..dads..:P

Oooooohhh..
Before I forget...

I dreamt of si budak Tofik tu last nite!!

Ooohhhh.....
In my dreams (but of coz...), he was hugging me!!
Yup!!
Tak bedek ahh..
He was hugging me from behind and whispering sweet-nothings in my ears...
*drool*
Oohhhh...
delicious..!!
And he was about to, I donno, nibble? sing? when alas, alas, si budak Firdaus ni pegi nangis and asked for milk!!

Bummer!!
Tros aku terbangon..!!

Oohh..sungguhthepotongstim.com!!!

He was hugging me, dammit!!
Siiiigghhh...

Ni lah dia..."I dreaaaaaammmm...."!!!!

U think if I go nap later, the dream might continue??!

*****

Updates are in order, I suppose...

Ok.
First up..
Bye 10K!!!
Sob.

I tell you, this man is a good financial planner and savvy talker..
I hate to admit it but I bought every darn word he said.
I'm such a sucker,huh?
But really..he DOES have his points and they're all (sshhh..) valid!!
And since it all serves to benefit us, I gave in and let him go ahead with the plans...
So it's bye² 10K, sayonara LV and so long Europe!!:P
Sob.
(At least I know now that if he gets out of the engineering line, he can be a good financial adviser...baahh!!)

Then, there's the principal.
Aku tunggu punya tunggu punya tunggu..member tak reply² email!
Pfftt..!!
So I called him up this morning and he told me, the reason he didn't reply me in black and white was because the issue is too sensitive and he didn't want his words to be misconstrued...
aperrr jerrr....
nampak sah tak tau reply letter...
sheeshh...

Niways...
We settled the matter.
Apparently, the school doesn't want the kids to be uncomfortable in this warm weather of ours to be in long pants throughout and they want the kids to be in common uniform instead of this discrimination of sorts....whateva..
So we have come to this exclusive arrangement for Aisyah:
She is allowed to put on pants for PE only and not throughout the day when she comes in school with her PE attire...
get what I mean??
takperlah nyahh..aku pon pening.

Sigh.
Kan senang kan dah settle kan....

Next to settle on my list:
Menu for Raya..!!!

Lemme see...I do have to visit the ILs, my parents and my granma..if she is discharged already.
Even if she hasn't, we'd still have to have this communal gathering with my big family..
So I don't necessarily have to cook a lot since I'd be out the whole day..

So what'll it be?
Oh well..I suppose we'll just have to do with lontong, kuah lodeh, sambal tumis udang/sotong, serunding daging and ayam masak merah then...

Korang rasa cukop tak??:p

I am so the sungguhagitated.com today!!
I hate being agitated.
Us Virgoans are big worry warts and I tell ya, the slightest thing can set us off easily...

This morning, Aisyah told me that the principal has said 'no more long pants during PE for the Muslim girls in the lower primary'!!
Humbug!!
All this while it was ok and now suddenly this..!!
I immediately set off to write him an email but since he's in an
ex-co meeting for the most part of today, he has yet to get back to me..
I truly hate waiting for his reply while I pace the house...

And then, Hunny called me up.
Told me he wants to re-look into the financing loan of the car and that if he wants to get this particular re-financing loan at a lower interest rate, he'd have to merely top up 10K to get that particular interest rate..
Trust me.
I shot up straight to the ceiling..!!!!

10K??!!
The issue here is not whether we have the money or otherwise..
The issue here is why would I eva throw away 10 grand on a *albeit* necessary evil like the car???!!!

I mean...we need savings, man!!
With three kids and me not working, our savings have to be there..
Firm and big and there.
It's our emergency nest, for heaven's sake!!
What if something happens to the kids?
What if something...just happens??
Why would I eva agree to it?
So I told him off (yes I know he just came back and we're supposed to be on honeymoon period still) firmly that I will NOT let him do that with the family savings...
A'-ah.
No way.
Migoodness..
I'm still hopping mad...
*Breathe ratna, breathe...*

10K tu bagi aku shopping kat LV kan lagi afdhal??!;p

Last Saturday, I visited my granma in the hospital.

Sigh.
She had a fall and broke her hip, fractured her wrist...
Poor lady.
She's what..74?
All frail and small and sick.
It's heartbreaking to see her in that state.

Granted, she's not exactly my favourite grandparent but she's the ONLY grandparent I have left...
I'm not that close to her..not even when I was smaller...
But still, she's my granma...

Anyway..seeing her that helpless and in that pain..I donno...
I was just hoping that if He wants to take her away, let it be...
I'd rather she go without pain and suffering...
I'd rather she go when she is still herself...
Cruel, you ask me?
I don't think so.
I've seen elderly people with Alzheimer's or dementia..not always a pretty sight but that's how they leave this world...
I'd rather my granma leave with some dignity...
Sigh.

Poor granma...
she's been thru so much.
Imagine, in this lifetime alone, she's seen her husband gone, her 2 sons gone, her granddaughter gone and even her great-grandson gone....
You'd have to be a very strong person to go thru all that, if you ask me..
(If it were me and Hunny left me, I'd prolly die of heartbreak not long after...)

And now she's in pain..can hardly talk and it's so painful when we had to leave her and she has this sad look on her...she wants you to stay but she can't express herself at all...she's prolly feeling sad and lonely and maybe intimidated by all 'em nurses and doctors filtering in and out of the ward every now and then...

Sigh.
I do pray she gets well soon.
We want her around this Hari Raya Haji...
We always do...
Times like this, I wish I had taken up my childhood ambition to be a doctor...so that I may care for the old and the elderly and the poor and the lonely....

Sigh..
Tu lah..saper suroh takot darah, kan...??

*****

It's Monday already??
Whoa.
Well, who cares..
Hunny is home and that's all that matters...
(on cue: aawwww, everyone!!!)

He's not exactly here at home..
He needs to go out to work and earn money for me to spend, remember..??

I think he needs to earn back the money we blew last Saturday, actually...

The stuffs we bought....fuuuhh...tobat!!

Lemme see...there was the Robinson's Warehouse Sale and then there was the MPH Warehouse Sale..
lovely, ain't it?

The Robinson's Sale didn't faze me...
It was the books that turned me on more..
I was practically salivating at the entrance to the hall...
Fuuhh...
You should see 'em books...
Aaaall over the place...
*shiver*

But this time round, we went to the MPH sale merely to get books for Aisyah.
Her ibu had to restrain herself.
She hasn't touched NOT EVEN ONE book from the previous MPH warehouse sale...
And she has..lemme see...11 books to read.
So she has to learn to NOT get books that Saturday...
punyerlah cobaan..

So, we ended up buying 33 books for the girls that day...
31 of them for Aisyah's silent reading.
(enuff or not?)
1 for Nadiah.
(more than enuff..considering she can't read yet...)
1 for...this is more for the parents.
It's "The Little Giant Book of Kids' Games".
For days we don't know what to do with them...
Hhmmm..

Wow.
I am AWAKE and I CAN WALK??!!!
applause, people..applause!!
tepok sket, ahh..

Sigh...
Lovely, lovely morning...

Actually, it can rain and storm for all I care...
It won't bother me one bit..cos my Dr Lurrve is home and I'm fit and well again....

The only reason I'm actually able to be here and update and all is only because:
He had to go back to work!!
Uh-huh.
No leave, no break, nuthin'...
Sungguh on.com

If he were home,I'd prolly have to pack the kids off to their granny's...or whomever can take them in...
Cos the parents can't get out of bed, mah..

Ok.
Back to yesterday.

We, the kids and I, left home at 8.30pm and took the train.
I was already panicking cos I figured we'd be late...
Imagine, taking the train all the way from Sembawang to Changi Airport...
macam dari sini pegi China pon ada lah...

But amazingly, we made it in time.
In fact, we reached the aiport at EXACTLY 2155hrs!!
But his flight was slightly delayed at the runway...
I mean..there were quite a number of flights taxi-ing in so...kata orang tu, dorang kena line-up ahh amik no...

And then, while waiting for him, I spotted one of my dad's good friend and colleague.
Fyi, my dad's a customs officer...
So when this friend of his saw me, he came out (he'd just finished his shift and was about to go back home, anyway..) and chatted with me...
And he waited with me till Hunny came out.

I kept telling him, err..u may leave if you have to..you don't have to wait yada yada yada...but he insisted...he kept saying, nevermind..I'm in no rush yada yada yada...

And there I was thinking..sheessh..pakcik ni buat potong stim ahh..orang nak terkam laki kejap lagi pon susah....
But then, only after he left did I realised, he was waiting with me all the way to HELP Hunny clear off customs easily should he run into any problems!!
Duhh!!
aku pon..
sungguh ingrate.com

So we waited and chatted for like...15mins or so before the girls spotted their dad and jumped and screamed his name..
And I was grinning and smiling and blushing like some over-aged anak dara...
Practically swooned when I saw his smiling face....
So giddy with excitement, u...

The minute he saw Hunny clear off customs smoothly, my dad's friend quietly left us...

Tu jam ah aku terkam my Dr Lurrvee!!
Ok.
Not really terkam.
That was for later..:p

Anyway...the girls were hugging and hugging and kissing their ayah all over (macam ayah dia balik haji, gitu..) while the ibu waited and waited and waited for her turn...
Last² baruuu aku dapat.
Ader ker patot kena tunggu last²??
Takperlah nyahh..mak tak cerewet....

We then headed to Mackers for supper and then it was off to the cabbie for the drive home.
In the cab, the girls were practically couging their lungs out...
Thank god I had their vomit bags ready.
It was coughing orchestra all the way home...non-stop.
Nadiah eventually vomitted out all her phlegm.
Which explains why both are not in school today.
Which explains why I'm going out shopping later...;)
(Ahmad drebar home oready mah..can fetch me anytime later....duhhh..)

Ok.
Err..where was I...
We reached home.
He unpacked and took out all the gifts and lemme see...there were Barbie tops for the girls, Esprits tops for all the kids, some chocolates, Barbie candy for the girls and what's that for me? Nothing?
Yup.
And nothing for the ibu.
Sungguh tak tau aper nak cakap.com

But who cares...
I get to see the Dr later....
hahh!!;)

Nevermind that the house went back to Square One this morning, like I predicted..
(I told you so..)

It's all still lovely...
Cos SQ805 is touching down tonite at 2155hrs, insyallah and I'm one happy bunny today...
*grins*
